The 89th edition of the referendum for the best athlete of 2023, organized by Przegląd Sportowy and Telewizja Polsat, has ended. Iga Świątek took first place in the fan vote, receiving this award for the second time in a row!
Świątek is the second tennis player in history to win the Athlete of the Year award. The first person to achieve this feat was Jadwiga Jędrzejowska in 1936-1937.

In 2023, the 22-year-old from Razin won the French Open Grand Slam for the third time in her career, as well as the WTA Finals in Cancun and the WTA Tours in Doha, Stuttgart, Warsaw and Beijing. She started and finished the season as leader of the world rankings.
In second place was Bartosz Zmarzlik, who became world champion for the fourth time, after winning the very exciting 2023 MotoGP Grand Prix series. He is only one title away from the best in history in this regard, Tony Richardson.
As expected, the “Team of the Year 2023” was the Polish volleyball team, which only this year won the European Championship, the Gold Medal of the Nations League and qualified for the Olympic Games in Paris, while being awarded the title of “Coach of the Polish National Team”. “The Year” by Nikola Grbic.
Let us remind you that two-time winner of the public referendum for the best athlete of 2023 – Iga Swiatek, with the Polish national team, will be able to win another title in her career. Already on the morning of January 7 at 7:30 Polish time the final match of the prestigious United Cup will be played. It is broadcast on Pulsat Sport channel.
