Autobiographies, albums and magazines in hand, some arrived as early as 7 a.m. to sign their essays and take photos with the great lady of song during a session scheduled from 10 to 11 a.m.
“We didn’t want to miss this opportunity, the main thing was to meet her,” laughs Suzanne Lemieux about Jeanette Reno’s famous song.
Ms. Lemieux was accompanied by her friend Francine Thibault, who was thrilled at the thought of meeting the woman celebrating 60 years of her career.
“She’s a great lady, she’s modest and we adore her,” says Mrs Thibault with great admiration.
a dream
With almost 200 people out at Kew, Jeanette Reno poured her time into the business very generously.
“For me, she’s a life coach, and how great she is,” says Valerie Sounard. “It’s a little girl’s dream to meet her in person, and that’s the first time.”
La Louvervois even had a small gift to give to the legend of Quebec song.
Michael Carrier, manager of the dispensary, had a chance to chat with the singer before the signing session began.
“She is very nice and very simple, we have good comments. It is a success and the weather is also on our side,” the manager notes, looking at the sun shining on the city of 20,000 inhabitants.
He adds that this is the gift that the Rivière-du-Loup business wanted to give to the regional population, who do not have the same opportunity to see the great singer as the citizens of the main centers.
Ginette on tour
Jeanette Reno began a multi-city tour in Quebec this week to promote her autobiography and her most recent album.
Branches across the Jean Coutu network were selected and franchisees chose whether or not to accept the proposal.
Yesterday, the singer was in Sainte-Marie in Beause, where she met 150 people, confirms the security manager who follows her in every city visited.
“Today in Rivière-du-Loup, there are a lot of people […] Mrs. Reno may want to extend the session, she decides, but it is exhausting for her,” he admits.
Jeanette Reno spent the weekend in Bas-Saint-Laurent. He will be in Rimouski to meet his fans tomorrow, Thursday before heading to Blainville and Laval next week.
The legend will be in Charlevoix in La Malpaille on June 11 and in Saint-Anne-de-Beaupré on June 14.
