One of The Game Awards’ surprises was the introduction of a new installment in the Armored Core series. The game’s premiere will take place in 2023, so we’ve already learned some interesting details about the production.
From Software returns to its series, which in recent years has had to enter the drawer, because productions such as Dark Souls and Demon’s Souls have received much more attention. Now, however, the developers and publisher want to use the “knowledge gained from creating recent titles” to launch an action game with mechanics in the main role.
In Armored Core 6 Fires of Rubicon, we will have the opportunity to create our own mechanism, after which we will travel around the world and perform various tasks:
In RUBICON CORE VI ARMOR FIRE, players will assemble and command their own mech with 3D maneuverability to move freely in fast-paced 3D missions. Take on challenging challenges and defeat enemies with dynamic moves that make the most of long-range combat and combat. Players can enjoy a variety of of actions that can only be fully achieved with the use of Mechanics.”
The studio also made a small introduction to the plot and In Armored Core 6 Fires of Rubicon, we’ll tackle the fight for a mysterious substance that can be a powerful source of energy:
“A mysterious new substance has been discovered on the distant planet Rubicon 3. As an energy source, this substance was expected to greatly increase humanity’s technological and communication capabilities. Instead, the substance caused a cataclysm that engulfed the planet and its surrounding stars in flames and storms, resulting in Creation of the Burning Star System Almost half a century later, the same substance appeared on Rubicon 3, a polluted planet cut off from the world after a cataclysm.
Extraterrestrial corporations and resistance groups are fighting for control of this substance. The player infiltrates the Rubicon as a freelance mercenary and competes for substance with other corporations and factions.”
Hidetaka Miyazaki was the “Senior Director” of Armored Core 6 Fires of Rubicon, But at some point, Masaru Yamamura took charge of the project. It’s very likely that From Software’s CEO will start developing another game.
