In just over a month, the fourth season of “Sukcesja” will premiere on HBO and on the streaming service HBO Max. The much loved and award winning series is the story of the Roy family i.e. Logan Roy and his 4 children who own Waystar Royco – one of the largest media companies in the world. The action takes place in New York and brings viewers closer to the fate and dilemmas that the members of this influential family have to face.

Armstrong. “Caliphate” will end with the fourth season

Director and creator Jesse Armstrong revealed to The New Yorker that the upcoming fourth season will be its last. “There is promise in the title of succession. I never thought it could go on forever. The ending has always been on my mind,” he said, adding that he had been planning to end the series since the second season.

It was a difficult decisionBecause the collaboration — with the cast, with my co-writers, with Nick Brittle and Marc Millhaud and the other directors — has been so good. I feel like I did the best job I could have done working with them. And HBO has been gracious and probably would have gone on for more seasons, and they were kind enough to say, “It’s your decision.” It’s beautiful, but ultimately it’s also a responsibility. It feels bad when you stop doing that, Jesse Armstrong told The New Yorker.

HBO has yet to confirm that the next season of “Succession” will be the final.

The first two seasons of the HBO series “Succession” were marked by 23 nominations and 9 Emmy statuettes, as many as 7 of these awards were awarded for the second season, including in the category of best drama series. The series’ third season, which premiered last October, has won awards from several guilds, including the WGA, DGA, PGA, and SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.

Executive producers on Succession include Jesse Armstrong, Adam McKay, Frank Rich, Kevin Messick, Gene Tranter, Mark Mylod, Tony Roach, Scott Ferguson, John Brown, Lucy Prebble, Will Tracy, and Will Ferrell.
