The end of the factory in Opole. The Germans wonder: maybe we should move?

– I have received information that the branch in Poland will be completely closed today (Monday, July 29) at the 12 noon meeting. We have received an offer to move to the factory in Magdeburg on German terms. Here the employer will help to complete all the necessary procedures to move there and find an apartment there in Germany. It is difficult to comment on it at the moment, because we do not know the exact conditions and what the wages will be – explained Marek Zavors, head of NSZZ “Solidarność” in Opole, in an interview with Radio Opole.

The employees are offered to move to Magdeburg because the generators are produced in Poland for the German company Enercon, which has offices in Magdeburg and Aurich.

Enercon is the largest wind turbine manufacturer in Germany and one of the world’s leading companies. The company was founded in 1984 and has been operating in Opole since 2015. But only until the end of October, when the plant will be liquidated.

– All production will be moved to Germany. – Zavosz added, quoting the official statement of “Solidarity”.
