The End of Tusk’s Plan? Holonia in Brief: “We Will Not Support It”

“We will not support a 0% interest loan. We will not support it because it is a proposal for developers, not for people who need housing. And this proposal will do one thing: increase housing prices. Poland 2050 does not agree with this. Do you know the effects of the “2% secure credit” program that the Law and Politics party presented before the elections? The average increase in housing prices in Poland is 13 percent! In Warsaw – 21 percent and in Krakow – 29 percent! So what? Should we repeat this scenario? What kind of country is this that, instead of learning from its mistakes, repeats them unwittingly,” wrote Szymon Holonia on the X website.

“Today we need a programme that really supports Polish women and men who want to buy their own apartment. It should be a proposal that includes various forms of support for social housing. We need to start building apartments that only the rich among us can afford.“- he added.

I remember that Loan support was one of the main promises made by the civic coalition during the election campaign. “We will provide a 0% interest loan to buy the first apartment” – this is point number 91 on the list of “100 details for 100 days”.

We will not support the 0% interest loan (known as the “#naStart Loan” – Editor’s note). Nothing has changed about that. If this proposal makes it fairer and provides real support for social housing, which we care about so much, then yes. But we believe that solutions that ensure a simple flow of state money to developers are not the best solution. As a result, there will be no increase in the supply of apartments – said Szymon Holonia, Speaker of the Sejm and President of Poland 2050, in mid-July.

#We_start_the_loan, the ministries are bombing it

The #naStart housing loan has recently been hit from several sides. A negative opinion about the project has been expressed among others: the Ministry of Finance and Regional Policy, which – like Simon Holonia – has pointed out that this could lead to an increase in apartment prices.

“The solutions proposed in the law do not adequately address the challenge of improving housing availability. We point out again that the support is directed to the demand side and not to the housing supply side. May lead to a disproportionate increase in prices in the housing market in the short term. The ministry said before adjusting the housing supply appropriately.

#naStart Loan for at least 15 years

The #naStart loan program aims to replace the Family Housing Loan and the 2% Secure Loan from the time of the United Right government. The #naStart loan is granted for a minimum period of 15 years.at a fixed interest rate for 60 months.

The project shows that the cost of supporting housing loans next year will amount to more than PLN 1.15 billion, and in 10 years it will reach almost PLN 19.4 billion in total.
