The ‘Everywhere at One’ director asks fans ahead of the Oscars
One of this year’s biggest Oscar favorites (tonight’s party! Check out where to watch) is the quirky sci-fi comedy Everything Everywhere at Once, directed by Dan Cowan and Daniel Scheinert. The movie has won as many as 11 nominations and is expected to have at least 3 in the bank – in the Movie, Actress and Supporting Actor categories. However, back-to-back editions of the Academy Awards prove that nothing is certain — the Academy has made surprising judgments several times. He realizes this unpredictability Dan Cowan asked fans to stay calm and “stay nice” even if the evening didn’t go their way.

Daniel Kwan to fans: Be generous and kind

On his Twitter account, Kwan thanked all the fans of “Everywhere at time” for their support and made a request that was hard to ignore. He also announced that after the Oscars, he plans to take a break from social media for a while.

I’ll probably take a break from social media after tomorrow night. The last thing I ask of fans of our movie is to be generous and kind tomorrow, especially if we don’t get the accolades you think we deserve.

Furthermore, Kwan emphasized that just because he is proud of the film does not mean he is ignoring the competition.

I love every movie we compete with for different reasons. Most importantly, I loved the people behind them because I got to know them throughout the year. I have everything I could possibly want at this point, so there’s no reason to get angry on our behalf.

The director also wrote that he hopes the Oscars will go to different teams so that it will be a proper celebration of the 2022 film.

As a joke, Kwan ended his letter with a phrase aimed at people who don’t like “everything at once”:

A note for the people who hate this movie with their entire being: I’m sorry we ruined your cinema forever. I hope we can make it up to you next time.

“Everything everywhere at once” – the plot

Evelyn Wang (Michelle Yeoh), a struggling middle-aged mother, stumbles upon the key to the “multiverse”: a web of intersecting worlds where she can explore all the paths in life she hasn’t taken: from movie star to head of a famous teppanyaki kitchen. When dark forces appear, Evelyn will have to use everything she has and everything she once could be to save what matters most to her: her family. With stunning martial arts scenes, light-hearted humor and heart-pounding emotions, this movie is epic and engaging like you’ve never seen before.
