Ukraine is preparing for a major counterattack this spring, however, the head of Ukrainian diplomacy warned that this counterattack should not be presented as an absolute turning point in the war, because if this operation does not succeed, such a narrative will strengthen the position of those Western politicians, who want to impress Kiev with “a settlement with Moscow,” according to the “Financial Times.”
Kuleba stated that in every country that currently supports Ukraine, there are politicians who want to put pressure on their government to reduce aid to Kiev, and on the Ukrainian authorities to agree to an armistice.
In response to a question about whether Western countries limit their aid to Ukraine for fear of escalating the conflict with Russia, the minister replied that “the escalation is a pretext, not an argument.” Initially, any request from Ukraine for more technologically advanced weapons was denied for fear of such an escalation.
