The hero of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has changed a lot since the new creators started the game. The developer revealed how we will explore the world of darkness from the perspective of an elderly vampire.

When Paradox Interactive revealed who was set to work on this highly anticipated production, an interesting change was immediately announced. Originally Bloodlines 2 It was following in the footsteps of its predecessor: players will take on the role of a young Kennett (Kindred) – a vampire who – just like the player – will just delve into the world of darkness.
Meanwhile, new creators decided so The main character in “2” will be an elderly vampire who is “bound” and unable to access most of her powerful powers. Bound by an unknown criminal, the vampire will have to find his way in the dystopia of Seattle’s Masquerade, where there will be no shortage of influential figures – potential enemies or allies (read: people who are more useful alive than dead at a given moment).

Humanity is a distant thing, so what are people to you? Ages of existence can be difficult for someone who thrives on others. Is it just something to be devoured, or is it possible to build a sense of trust and connection? Is everyone just a chess piece or a cup?
Placing the player in the role of an older vampire fits with the philosophy presented by the developer in the previous entry: the player is supposed to be a “hunter”, someone who is in control of the situation, even if he is not omnipotent. However, the creators still wanted to leave players free to play the role of the hero according to their own preferences, while at the same time giving them the opportunity to explore the world of darkness without breaking their immersion.

He has been interested in video games (and not just video games) for many years, and completed his Master’s degree in Polish Studies at the University of Warsaw with a thesis dedicated to this topic. He started his adventure with Gry-Online.pl in 2015, where he was writing for the gaming newsroom, then also for the movie newsroom, and – horror horror! – Technological (there was also a post in the gaming encyclopedia). He started out with platformers and is still a huge fan of them (including metroidvania games), but he’s also interested in card games (including arcade games), fighting games, soul games, and basically anything gaming related. Don’t ask about graphics issues – after a few hours the author can admire pixel characters from games dating back to the Game Boy era (if not older).
