As a result of this transaction, Yandex becomes the property of, among other things, Management of the Russian company, in addition to a fund based on the oil giant Lukoil. However, Russians cannot use the original name of the company and search engine.

Reuters confirms in its information about the sale that Yandex has always tried to present itself as an entity independent of the influence of the Kremlin. The regime even tried to nationalize the Russian Google.
