'The Mandalorian & Grogu': Jon Favreau at the helm of the Star Wars show
LucasFilm has announced that Jon Favreau, creator of “The Mandalorian” series, will be the director and producer of the new film from the Star Wars universe – “The Mandalorian & Grogu.”

What do we know about “The Mandalorian & Grorgu”?

Plot details for “The Mandalorian & Grogu” remain secret. Filming is scheduled to begin later this year. Joining Jon Favreau as producers will be Kathleen Kennedy and Dave Filoni.

At this point, it is unknown if Pedro Pascal, who plays The Mandalorian in the Disney+ series, will reprise that role in the film. Work on the fourth season is currently underway.

I love telling stories set in the rich world created by George Lucas – Favreau said. The prospect of bringing The Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the big screen is very exciting.

“The Mandalorian & Grogu” is one of four Star Wars films that LucasFilm is currently working on. The rest of the productions are directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, James Mangold, and Dave Filoni. Currently the pinnacle of the universe is “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” from 2019.

The series “The Mandalorian” debuted on Disney+ in December 2019. Its hero is a Mandalorian bounty hunter who receives an order from a mysterious client. Things get complicated when the mercenary unexpectedly befriends Grogu – the creature he was supposed to deliver to his employer. Starring Pedro Pascal, Carl Weathers, Werner Herzog and Gina Carano.
