The most deadly pandemic wave awaits us

All because of the omicron variant, which is much more contagious than delta.

According to the Polish news agency, scientists from the United States have predicted that if the worst-case scenario materializes, the coming months will bring the deadliest wave of Covid-19.

Where do these assumptions come from? According to research by scientists from Columbia University in New York, the Omicron coronavirus variant is 35 percent more contagious than Deltas. It was initially assumed that the infection was greater, but not by much. Research by the same scientists shows that omicron has the ability to destroy immunity acquired during infection or previous vaccination.

Other scientists, from the University of Texas at Austin, have developed as many as 18 scenarios for the impact of an omicron variable on the United States. The worst-case scenario is that more than 340,000 people will die of Covid-19 in the first six months of 2022. This is 20 per cent more than in the first half of 2021.

Omicron is to be extremely dangerous to the Chinese. They have adopted the Sinopharma and Sinovac vaccine, which is supposed to provide little protection against Omicron.
