The Polish Football Association Center in Otok is an investment aimed at bringing our football closer to Western Europe. Eight full-sized courts, including an indoor court, a high futsal hall and a five-star hotel. The stadium is set to be home to all national teams, but is also the venue where Young Eagles Academy Series training camps, referee training and, eventually, a nationwide VAR centre, will take place.

On 7 October, the President of the Polish Football Association, Cezary Kuleza, the Federation’s Secretary General Lukasz Wachowski, Sports Minister Kamil Bortniczuk and the President of OTOC, Jaroslaw Margielski, spoke at a conference where plans for the center were presented.
“historical event”
– This is a historic event, which brought the Polish Football Association to a completely different level. This is meant to be a place where synergy is created, a center for the exchange of ideas, says Lukasz Wachowski, general secretary of the association.

So what is the problem? It is known that the contract has not been signed yet, and it is expected to be done within ten days or so. The appointment of the new government is likely to take about two months. Now that the opposition has won the election, many commentators have expressed doubts about whether the investment will take place at all. It is, after all, the government’s main investment in a city ruled by President Jaroslaw Margielski, who is seen as one of PiS’s most talented politicians among the younger generation.
We asked Sports Minister Kamil Bortnichuk about this before the elections. -Theoretically, the government could do anything, they could also take £500 or more, but we know they won’t. We will ensure that it is properly secured from the state treasury, he said.
This is not an issue written with a finger in the water
Wachowski is optimistic. – We do our best to sign the contract as soon as possible. We have finalized the issue of land, leasing and purchasing it with Otok Municipality. There is no doubt on their part. We just have to finish the issue of the money that was guaranteed to us, says the union’s general secretary.
It is known that the Polish Football Association submitted a request to the ministry containing various guarantees, including: the right to dispose of the land. As they assure us in the Union, this is not something written in stone. Before the two parties organized the press conference, everything was agreed in detail.
The center is scheduled to be built in the years 2024 to 2027. Some of the fields are scheduled to be put into use in 2025. In December 2027, the entire center will be ready and then the employees will finally move to Otok.
