The state will pay several hundred zlotys per month, which is new.  Regulations passed

  • The amount of the energy voucher depends on the number of people in the household. It will be available for the period from July 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024.
  • The new regulations stipulate two income limits: up to PLN 2,500 for single-person households and up to PLN 1,700 per person for multi-person households.
  • One-person families are entitled to support in the amount of PLN 300, families of two and three people – PLN 400, families with four to five people will receive PLN 500, families with six or more people – PLN 600.

The Energy Voucher Act and an amendment to certain laws to cap electricity, natural gas, and district heating prices were finally adopted by the House of Representatives on May 23, 2024, taking into account Senate amendments. Now he is waiting for the president’s signature.

An energy voucher is a one-time cash benefit intended for low-income households. It will be due for the period from July 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024. Its amount will depend on the number of people in the family.

The application must be submitted between August 1 and September 30, 2024 to the mayor, mayor or city president.

1. An energy voucher is a one-time cash benefit paid to a single-person household, the amount of which is the average monthly income within the meaning of Art. 3 Point 1 of the Law of 28 November 2003 on Family Allowances (Journal of Laws of 2024, Clause 323) for the year 2023, hereinafter referred to as “average income for 2023”, did not exceed PLN 2,500, and a multi-person family that did not exceed the average Its per capita income for 2023 is PLN 1,700.

Most importantly, when paying the voucher, the “PLN for PLN” principle will apply. This means that the voucher will be granted even if the income criterion is exceeded, but its value will decrease by the amount exceeded.

Energy Voucher – how much will it be and who will benefit from it?

The Energy Voucher is awarded in the amount of:

  • PLN 300 – for a family of one person;
  • PLN 400 – for a multi-person family of two to three people;
  • PLN 500 – for a multi-person family of 4-5 people;
  • PLN 600 – for a multi-person family of at least 6 people.

If your household uses electricity-powered heating, the value of your energy voucher increases by 100%. It will be:

  • PLN 600 – for a family of one person;
  • PLN 800 – for a multi-person family of two to three people;
  • PLN 1000 – for a multi-person family of 4-5 people;
  • PLN 1,200 – for a multi-person family of at least 6 people.
