The next-gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be released next week. The enhanced game will port to both PC and current generation consoles in the form of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. For those who already have the game in their library, the next update will be delivered at no additional cost. A few days before the Witcher 3 remaster comes out, CD Projekt RED has shared a few new screenshots from the PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Next-gen for PC Will Benefit More From Ray Tracing, As Shown Directly By NVIDIA
CD Projekt RED has posted plenty of new screenshots from the next-gen version of The Witcher 3, and in some cases we’ve received nearly identical screenshots from the game on PC/PS5 and XSX. However, it can already be concluded from them that the PC version of the game will provide greater image detail, especially in the background, as well as better shadow quality. As you know, in the PC version, we’re going to get Ray Tracing, which has been used not only to improve ambient lighting and offsets, but also to improve shadows and reflections. In the case of current generation consoles, screen space reflections (SSRs) will be rendered with significantly better quality (as you can see in the material from Digital Foundry below), but at the same time they will not use ray tracing.
The Witcher Remake will be a fully open-world game, but the first trailer will happen after The Witcher 4 came out
Digital Foundry started with the console version, and you can see at first glance that many scenes in White Orchard are of better quality compared to previous versions. More detailed image, sharper textures, the aforementioned reflections in screen space, improved occlusion, better cloud quality and finally global illumination, where Ray Tracing has been used. These are the most important changes compared to the older version, and while you can’t talk about a completely new quality, owners of current generation consoles will have something to watch. The PC version promises to be even better. In a few days we will see how all the “new” Witcher 3 releases fall.
