Paris Saint-Germain's interest in Lamin Yamal must be taken seriously, Le Parisien reports.
In March, Marca wrote that Paris Saint-Germain was ready to offer 200 million euros to Barcelona for Lamin Yamal. Shortly afterwards, the president of the Catalan club, Joan Laporta, confirmed the emergence of offers of this level for the 16-year-old, although he did not directly acknowledge that they were from the Parisians.
Le Parisien now writes clearly – the acquisition of Yamal, who just faced Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, is one of his transfer priorities in the summer window. This dream comes at a price, but Parisians are well aware of this.
The very young footballer's contract includes a €1 billion release clause, the purpose of which is to discourage interested parties. Barcelona could be close to negotiating the actual amount of a potential deal, although they probably do not intend to do so alone. However, that may change with a signal from the winger himself, indicating his desire to move to Paris.
Paris Saint-Germain is counting on this, and it seems that the idea of paying the above-mentioned 200 million euros is circulating in the club’s management offices, and the willingness to pay this money must be taken seriously.
The main player in the ranks of the Parisians is Jorge Mendes, with whom they maintain good relations and who has many players in the French team. This is a strong argument, but of course it does not guarantee the success of the deal. The approach to the player himself will be key.
