Ronaldo was revived in victory. On Friday, December 22, he scored his 51st goal of the calendar year. Thus, he became the world's top scorer, one goal behind Erling Haaland. However, it has emerged that Ronaldo in Manchester not only left behind poor form, but also unfulfilled commercial ambitions.
Cristiano Ronaldo's actions have not been completely successful. Instead of a hotel there are ruins
In December 2020, Cristiano Ronaldo received permission to build a luxury hotel in Manchester city centre. The facility was to be built in a Grade II listed building. Assignment to the appropriate class is determined by age, rarity, aesthetics, and national interest. The problem is that the hotel that was supposed to open this year isn't even close.

The building was due to undergo renovations externally and internally – which included demolishing crumbling floors – but photos taken by Manchester City Council show no progress has been made for three years. The interior of the building is extremely dirty, with cracked walls, rickety floors and loose cables. The Sun reports that the hotel would have employed more than 900 people and contributed £56 million to the local economy.

On 16 December 2023, the three-year approval granted to the Pestana Group – a hotel company with which Ronaldo has already created several hotels under his brand – for the construction project expired. A company spokesman admitted, “The project has been halted because the company is still working to obtain the appropriate approvals.” The Pestana Group and the developer it cooperates with have already had to explain the lack of progress. The hotel was to have 151 rooms, a roof terrace, a gym and two bars. However, it looks like nothing will be built there for a long time.
