“Demon” was one of the films competing for the Golden Lions at the 40th Gdynia Film Festival. The plot was truly terrifying. The main character Piotr (Itay Tiran) came from England to marry Żaneta Agnieszka Żulewska). He intended to settle with his lover in an old house he had received as a gift from his father-in-law. Just before the wedding, he found human remains buried near his house. After this horrific discovery, Piotr lost consciousness, and when he regained consciousness, he discovered that the body had disappeared. He himself was unable to reconstruct any events of the last hours.

Unexpectedly, terrifying information spread in the media. His wife, Olga Szymanska, found the body of the famous director, who fought for the statuette, in a hotel room. Marcin Rona was only 42 years old.
A few days after the tragedy, it turned out that Marcin Frona had committed suicide. This is indicated by the injuries detected during the examination. However, no other injuries were found on the body of the deceased – which currently indicates that the most likely version of death is suicide, without the intervention of third parties – said the head of the Gdynia Public Prosecutor’s Office, Malgorzata Gobel. However, he took the secret of his motives with him to the grave.
– This dramatic culmination of a beautiful and very fast career shows the kind of profession and the price that artists pay for doing their work, and how much they struggle with themselves – said film critic Lukasz Maciejewski, angry at the TVP information.
