I'm going this Saturday to play a role in the third part of “Tron.” – Bridges said – Jared Leto is the star of the film. I really want to work with him. I admire his work.
Jeff Bridges: star of the series “Tron.”
Bridges' character, Kevin Flynn, is a brilliant computer game developer. In the first “Tron” movie from 1982, the hero breaks into his former employer's main computer and is accidentally drawn into the virtual world. There he must fight in dangerous games of his own design.
The sequel, released 28 years later, titled “Tron: Legacy,” tells the story of Kevin’s son, Sam (Garrett Hedlund). While searching for the reason for his father's sudden disappearance, the boy is drawn into the digital world he has lived in for the past 25 years. Father and son, along with Kevin's loyal friend Cora (Olivia Wilde), embark on an adventure through a visually stunning cybernetic world that is becoming more advanced and extremely dangerous.
Bridges not only played Flynn in “Legacy,” but also the evil CLU program he created. For the second role, the actor was digitally rejuvenated. Today he admits that he doesn't like the effects work of motion capture specialists: I didn't like the way I looked in the movie. I felt more like Bill Maher than myself. It was a bit strange.
What will be the subject of the third part of the “Tron” series?
Joachim Rönning (“Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales,” “Maleficent 2”) was behind the camera for “Tron: Ares.” Jared Leto will play the titular Ares, a Tron appearance. The cast also includes Evan Peters, Jodie Turner-Smith, Cameron Monaghan, Gillian Anderson, and Greta Lee.
While the previous two “Tron” installments were set in virtual reality, the “Ares” screenplay by Jesse Wiguto and Jack Thorne focuses on an autonomous program that infiltrates the human world.
