The Russian Wagner Group has reported the alleged discovery of the body of a 28-year-old Briton near Swedar. The statement did not specify its details, but the Wagnerians confirmed that they had found the documents of the missing British volunteers.
Volunteers from Britain are missing
On Monday, the Ukrainian police reported that volunteers from Great Britain had disappeared. Contact was lost with the 28-year-old and the 48-year-old, who both worked for aid organizations, when they left Kramatorsk for Solidar.
On January 7, at about 17.15, the Bakhmut district police station received a notification of the disappearance of two British volunteers, aged 28 and 48. Earlier, on January 6, Andrew Bagshaw and Christopher Perry left Kramatorsk at 8 a.m. for Solidar and lost contact with them, police said Monday.

They helped evacuate civilians
He appealed to Ukrainian police officers to report information on the missing Britons. According to the Daily Mail, 28-year-old Christopher Barry and 48-year-old Andrew Bagshaw helped evacuate civilians from the hardest-hit areas near Bakhmut and Kramatorsk.
A Foreign Office spokesperson said they were supporting the families of two Britons who went missing in Ukraine. “We are aware of the latest reports and are in contact with the Ukrainian authorities,” he said.
Parents for a lost son
Christine Barry, mother of British humanitarian volunteer in Ukraine Christopher Barry, told the Daily Mail that “nothing is certain at the moment”. “We’re just trying to keep family members informed of what’s going on,” she said.
His father, Robin Barry, said everyone is proud of Chris and his work. Barry was born in Cornwall and was a running coach until March. However, after the war broke out, he felt compelled to fight and bought a ticket to Ukraine.
The man was going to enlist in the Ukrainian Legion of Foreign Fighters, but was told that his lack of combat experience would only make him a “hurdle”. Instead, it directed its efforts towards evacuations and aiding civilians.

The 48-year-old fellow Andrew Bagshaw was born in the UK but lived in Christchurch, New Zealand. His parents are well known in the city where he lived, and founded the Canterbury Charitable Hospital and made a significant contribution to young people’s mental health services.
Tenby Powell, director of relief organization KARE, told RNZ New Zealand, that the family is “extremely upset” by his disappearance. – We have not lost hope, I know that they are looking for him in Ukraine, – he said.
