General Bolko: Ukraine has already achieved these goals
When asked about the assessment of the actions of the Ukrainians in the Kursk region, General Roman Bulko stressed that “it is not about an invasion, it is about forcing Russian troops to move from the direction of Kherson or Donetsk Oblast to relieve Ukrainian troops there.” – It is also about showing the Russians what war looks like on their territory, and I think these goals have already been achieved – he said in an interview with fronda.pl.
The former commander of the GROM unit noted that Ukraine “is expanding the territories under its control, using no more than 10 thousand soldiers”. Meanwhile, in Russian propaganda, “the number of soldiers has already increased to 300 thousand and these are NATO troops”. – This is because they cannot imagine that this “invincible Russian army” does not actually protect their territory, – the military officer explains.
“Ukraine is proving that it can do it”
– This is also a way to show the West that this is not a hopeless war and that Ukraine simply needs time and logistical support and is already capable of defending itself. “It is difficult to talk about Ukraine’s victory, when in fact it is fighting only for its territory,” General Bolko said. In his opinion, the attack on the Kursk region “is simply the principle of implementing the art of war that Sun Zi wrote about in his book “The Art of War” – “look for an advantage that the enemy does not have, gain the element of surprise, strike where the enemy cannot attack you.”
– So far it seemed that everything in this war was predictable, but it turned out not to be the case. General Roman Bolko said that the Russians slept, did not prepare and were surprised.
