Ukrainian intelligence: In the separatist republics they take schoolchildren and students to the army

Students and high school students were drafted into the army in the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, according to the Ukrainian military intelligence. The age of mobilization for reserve soldiers there has been raised from 55 to 65.

“For example, all 18-year-old students of the Lugansk Railway Technical School were ordered to register. The director of this school contacted them personally,” the Ukrainian service said. Similar reports were also received from, among others from Lugansk Medical University.

According to military intelligence, the morale of the soldiers of the pro-Russian “republics” in the Donbass is “extremely low” due to very high casualties.

Decisions of general mobilization were issued in both “republics” on February 19, five days before the Russian invasion. At that time, all men between the ages of 18 and 55 were forbidden to leave the occupied Donbass lands.

The order ordered the preparation of a “human reserve” at the age of 17-18 to participate in combat. Young soldiers will be mainly recruited from the group of Gunnarmia members.

According to the Russian authorities, the youth army already has more than 140,000 members, and its forces are spread out in every region of the country. Junarmia is a youth organization founded in 2016 with the support and funding of the Russian Ministry of Defense. In it, young people are ready to serve in the army. Even 8-year-olds belong to it.
