On Tuesday, the representative of the Ukrainian Military Intelligence Andrei Yusov reported on the mass investigations of Russian soldiers about their situation in Ukrainian captivity. He added that soldiers at the front who have just mobilized are calling the hotline.
And the Ukrainian Pravda portal quoted Yusov as saying that the Russians are calling a special hotline launched by the Ukrainian side about methods of surrender. – Not only the soldiers in the area started calling Ukraine As part of the occupying army, but also those who have just been mobilized and are still on the territory of the Russian Federation, or their relatives, said Yusov. He also added, “People who suspect they may be mobilized and are seeking information in case” come back as well.
A HUR representative said that in a few weeks more than 2,000 such reports had been registered. He explained that it concerns the period after the successful counterattack of the Ukrainian army in the Kharkiv region and the declaration in Russia Mobilization for war with Ukraine. Partial mobilization announced in Russia September 21.
A hotline set up by the Ukrainian authorities offers advice on how to properly surrender and capture. The Ukrainian side assured the Russians that they would be treated as prisoners of war in accordance with the Geneva Conventions.
