Volleyball Middle East 2023: Results and highlights of the 1/8 finals

The qualifying stage of the European Volleyball Championship has begun. The 16 teams that qualified for the group stage are competing to qualify for the quarter-finals. Find out the results of the 1/8 matches of the 2023 European Volleyball Championship finals.

The first matches of the 1/8 finals of the EuroVolley 2023 tournament were held on Friday in the city of Varna. Romania beat Croatia 3-2, and France confidently beat Bulgaria 3-0.

Two more matches were played on Saturday in Varna. Slovenia beat Turkey 3:2, although the opponents scored the first two sets at their expense. Ukraine confidently beat Portugal 3-0. In Bari, the Italians easily overcame North Macedonia, winning 3-0. The Netherlands won the long confrontation over Germany, 3-2.

24 teams participated in the tournament, which was held in North Macedonia, Italy, Bulgaria and Israel. They were divided into four groups of six teams each. The top four teams qualified for the quarter-finals.
