The first series of the World Cup lottery in Sapporo resulted in many “victims”. Among them the jumper was third in the general classification of the course.

Anze Lanisek is one of the best jumpers in the 2022/23 season and is fighting for the Crystal Globe with Dawid Kubacki and Halvor Egner Granerud. On Saturday, however, he would suffer great losses in this battle. All because he pulled a bad ticket in a lottery contest held in Sapporo.
The Slovenian was launched with the wind behind (as one of the few). And he did not cope with it at all – he jumped only 103.5 meters and took the penultimate place in the overall average.
– Lanisek received compensation, but he needed incense like dead people, – commented Igor Blachut, commenting on this competition on TVN and Eurosport.
However, he wasn’t the only one unlucky. In terms of conversion factors, Jan Hoerl (111.5m) started in worse conditions and we will also not see him in the final series. Jumpers like Markus Eisenbichler (123m) and Lovro Kos (114m) also finished the first round on Saturday. The latter had trouble hooking up and ended up being the last jumper of the series.
Returning to Lanisko, this competition from the second competition of the 2022/23 season has – so far – not broken out of the top 10 in every subsequent competition. His great series was only interrupted by difficult circumstances and irrational jury decisions.
