Since then, Widzew fans have broken several records in this regard, including: 16,401 passes purchased in 2020 and 6,168 passes on the first day of sale a year ago. This is the official record for daily sales of permanent subscriptions conducted under the supervision of an authorized judge.
For the upcoming season – as the Lodz club announced on Saturday – 15,617 season tickets quickly found buyers.
Low number of passes
“Before the start of the 2024/25 season, the number of season tickets available to Widzew fans had to be reduced again. Sponsorship commitments, club needs, funded season tickets, as well as buffer sectors meant that 15,617 permanent tickets were finally sold. “They were distributed, I would write ‘only’ because all season tickets found their owners, and there were only 300 season tickets left for potential new fans,” Widzew reported.
According to the club from Łódź, Widzew is the clear leader in season ticket sales among Polish clubs ahead of the next season. Legia sold 10,000 of them (the maximum), Polish champion Jagiellonia Białystok – 7,064, Pogoń Szczecin – 4,876, Śląsk Wrocław – 3,200.
Fan Support
– Our fans are our huge capital. They have shown once again that going to Widzew is not a fashion. For another year in a row we have sold out the entire stadium, but for me the everyday aspect is also important, because I feel that the fans are with us at every step. We always feel their support – Widzew chairman Michał Rydz told PAP.
Widzew Stadium has a capacity of about 18,000 spectators.
Lodz will play their first match of the new Ekstraklasa season on July 27 against Lech Poznań. Earlier, in the first round, they will play away against Stal Milik (July 22).
