“What Happened?”: Oscar spectators were stunned after an argument between actors Will Smith and Chris Rock on Sunday night, who climbed on stage first and slapped second.

Chris Rock, one of the presenters at the 94th Hollywood Awards, made fun of Will Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith.
In Ridley Scott’s “On Equal Arms” (1997) he compared his closely cut hair to Demi Moore’s shaved head.
Zada Pinkett-Smith, who has spoken publicly about her alopecia (hair loss) in the past, rolled her eyes. At first funny, Will Smith then went on stage and slapped Chris Rock as they were on the sofa echoing the sound of banging on the microphones in front of the stunned audience in the room where the ceremony was taking place.
The ABC channel muted the sound during the next show, but the conversation was audible on foreign television.
“Aha. Aha Will Smith just took my head off, ”said Chris Rock. “It’s a joke in ‘On Equal Arms'”, he justified himself to the actor.
“Leave my wife’s name out of your mouth,” Will Smith shouted, turning to his wife.
