Wimbledon 2024. Jan Zielinski and Su-Wei Hsieh advance to mixed doubles final

The first set of Friday’s match was decided only by a tiebreak, which Hsieh and Zielinski played brilliantly. They won 0-0, despite having defended the set piece a moment earlier, at 6:6.

In the second set, the game number eight proved to be decisive for the fate of the match. The Taiwanese and Poles dominated, finally taking advantage of the third break point and jumping to 5:3. In an instant they served and scored the first match ball.

The meeting lasted 1 hour and 37 minutes.

In Sunday’s final, Hsieh and Zielinskiy’s opponents will be Mexico’s Juliana Olmos and Santiago Gonzalez, who eliminated Norway’s Ulrike Eckere and Argentina’s Maximo Gonzalez.

The Pole and the Taiwanese have been a mixed doubles pair since this year. In their first appearance, they won a Grand Slam title in Melbourne. Hsieh, 38, is a very successful tennis player. In addition to winning the Australian Open with Zielinskiy, who is ten years his junior, he has won seven Grand Slam titles, including four at Wimbledon.
