Yes! James Gunn to direct and write DC’s ‘Superman: Legacy’

While it’s not surprising, we’ve been waiting for an official confirmation of this news — and lo and behold! James Gunn to direct a new Superman movie called “Superman: Legacy”

“Superman: Legacy” – the beginning of a new era in DC

The fact that he’s preparing the script for a new Superman movie was announced a few months ago by Gunn, saying the plot had been in the works since September of last year, before he and Peter Safran took over at DC.
“Superman: Legacy” is supposed to be a movie that will open a new DC Universe on the cinema screen. It will be about a young Superman “confronting his own heritage and earthly upbringing”. The new Clark Kent will be “the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way of life” and will be guided by “human kindness in a world that respects ancient kindness and we know the hero must be under 40.”

The second movie to fit into the new era of the DC universe is “Batman Part 2,” written and directed by Matt Reeves. The Batman II will hit theaters on October 3, 2025.

Who will be the new Superman?

Shortly after James Gunn and Peter Safran took over at DC, it was also announced that Henry Cavill would not be reprising his role as Superman. However, the possible actors who will play the remake of Man of Steel have not yet been announced. Besides taking command, Jean and Safran announce other revolutionary changes in the universe, although this does not mean that all of the stars in the universe present have been abandoned. Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman and possibly (no official decision yet) Ezra Miller as the Flash are set to return as their characters.

Until now, rumors are circulating around the network that the audience did not like the movie “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” in test screenings. There were voices saying that it is “boring, worse than the first part and possibly one of the worst productions in the DC universe. Is that true, we will find out in December this year.
